OUR HISTORY
The past 30 years we have produced commercial orders, framed art, and live edge furniture designs.
Our Company includes, The Picture Gallery LLC, and The Wooden Nickel.
While operating our wholesale art company we became interested in wood, and bought a portable saw, and soon we were buying logs and cutting slabs. All types of local woods are used, walnut, maple, spalted maple, sycamore, cedar, poplar ,rainbow poplar, reclaimed wood and many more.
We have been working with the wood for several years, there is a lot to learn about wood. The wood is air dry, then kiln dry, this process takes several months.
We needed bases, so we started designing and making metal bases, along with the wood bases. These metal bases and wood bases are designed to fit the slab of wood, a lot of our orders are special orders from customers that want a certain wood, or size, and type of base.
We are always busy. Today we enjoy a very good business. We produce a very high quality product, both commercial and custom orders.
All of our pieces of furniture have a buffalo nickel, placed somewhere on the furniture, hence our name The Wooden Nickel.
